Qianjiang Library

Qianjiang Library is located in the Education and Cultural Center of Qianjiang New Urban Area (No. 1 Xuefu First Road, Zhoubai Street, Qianjiang District), with the scenic Qianjiang Urban Canyon Park adjacent to its front. The library covers an area of approximately 3,500 square meters, with a construction area of 17,000 square meters. It has a designed book collection capacity of 800,000 volumes, equipped with 600 reading seats, 1 electronic reading room (with more than 30 computers), and can accommodate up to 4,000 readers per day.

The library building features a unique, exquisite and highly modern design. Adopting a fully open and non-partitioned layout, it incorporates book symbol elements into its exterior, highlighting a strong cultural atmosphere. The library extensively applies intelligent and information-based technologies. Through intelligent fire-fighting systems, security systems, temperature control systems and integrated management systems, it has achieved a comprehensive upgrade of its business model, providing solid technical support for readers to efficiently use the collection resources. The functional design fully considers the needs of special groups such as people with disabilities, effectively safeguarding the cultural right of everyone to enjoy reading services.

All books and periodicals in the library's reading areas are provided with open-shelf services. Currently, the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 5th floors are used as service areas:

- The 1st floor serves as the exhibition area and the library's network hub;

- The 2nd floor is the information service area and periodical service area, providing multimedia audio-visual services, electronic reading, information resource sharing and network services. It also has a Chinese periodical reading area, as well as special zones for classic reading, visually impaired reading and children's reading;

- The 3rd floor is the book lending area, offering lending services for Chinese and foreign books;

- The 5th floor houses the administrative office area, local literature area and ancient book special collection service area, providing consultation, reference, ancient book authentication and custody services.
